Reverend Dr. Reginald Pitts answered his call to the ministry in 2000 at Robbinsville Baptist Church,
in Robbinsville, New Jersey. It was there he delivered his first sermon and has had the honor of preaching and teaching God’s word the past 15 years. In 2006, he was led to Fountain Baptist Church of Summit, New Jersey, under the tutelage of Pastor J. Michael Saunders, where he was ordained in 2007. During his time at Fountain, he served as an Associate Minister leading the Young Adult ministry and developing his spiritual maturity through the mentorship of Pastor Saunders.
On December 31st, 2011, the Lord sent Rev. Pitts on a new assignment, as he assumed the Sr. Pastor position at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Irvington, New Jersey. Since his time at Solid Rock, Pastor Pitts has endeavored to lead the people in kingdom building through uncovering the truth in God’s word, radical worship and developing community. He is grateful for the opportunity to nurture his passion for justice and urban development in Irvington and the surrounding areas. In addition to his ministerial work at home, Reverend Pitts has been blessed to minister internationally in South Africa, Rome and Uganda. Reverend Pitts is always ready to bless the people of God with a word from the Lord. He is committed to reaching all people regardless of age, race, gender, biblical maturity or denomination. He is known for being “real” and connecting with people from all walks of life.
Reverend Pitts truly strives to walk in the love of the Lord, not simply preach it. He has an insatiable thirst for learning, which inspired him to enroll at the New Brunswick Theological Seminary to strengthen his biblical insight. He received his Master of Divinity Degree (2008), Doctoral of Ministry degree (2013) and seeks continuous spiritual formation, most recently as a participant in the Black Institute of Leadership at Princeton Theological Seminary (2022). A bible-based preacher/teacher who simply believes God’s word, he is authentic, zealous and has a dynamic way of making the bible palatable. Rev. Pitts is also a worshipper who loves to sing songs of Zion, just not always in the right key. In addition to serving in ministry, he takes joy in spending time with his beautiful wife Megan and three wonderful children Milan, Madison and Kalil Pitts.
